Random Security Scans

Description

Non Consortium travellers in the 'Iron Quad' system are to be kept under tight scrutiny. Will you assist in some random spot checks?

Start: Side Jobs, YZ Ceti Jump Gate

Introduction

You sign up for the job. Antonina messages you via CORETECHS with further details.

Greetings citizen. You have the Consortium's thanks for offering your services. Please make your way to the port. Siv Havva will lend you the gear required.

New goals: "Talk to Siv Havva in the port.".

You have accepted the "Random Security Scans" job.

Next NPC: Siv Havva, Port, YZ Ceti Jump Gate

  • Talk to Siv.

Siv Havva is a tall and well toned Harsene woman. Her large and eyes dart around the room with lightning speed, taking stock of every traveler and movement in her line of sight. As you approach, she starts to speak without looking at you.

Siv says: You are <name>. The Consortium takes a number of steps to keep traffic in and out of YZ Ceti secure. Our research here is both sensitive and, quite often, classified. With your permission I will make available a temporary application for your CORETECHS, this will allow you a certain measure of interaction with the security drones in this area. Utilize them to perform spot checks on three travelers, preferably Non Consortium in affiliation, and then report back to receive your payment.

Siv waits a brief moment and takes your silence as acquiescence, she manipulates the air in front of her, no doubt interacting with the UI in her CORETECHS, and you receive a notification in your own CORETECHS that a new application is available for use.

She says: You have received the application. A secondary display in your field of view will allow you to 'see' what the drones see and target individuals for a security scan. Thank you for your diligent service.

With that, Siv turns to watch another part of the port, your conversation apparently over.

New goals: Scan 3 travelers in the port.

Next area: Port, YZ Ceti Jump Gate

  • Process your first traveler.

(Intelligence check)

You use the drone's systems to scan a traveler, their CORETECH information is noted and logged though it seems to go directly into the system without any feedback to you, no doubt to maintain privacy. You do, however, note a green light that you assume indicates the traveler is approved.

New goals: Process 2 more travelers.

  • Process your second traveler.

(Intelligence check)

You use the drone's systems to scan a traveler, their CORETECH information is noted and logged though it seems to go directly into the system without any feedback to you, no doubt to maintain privacy. You do, however, note a green light that you assume indicates the traveler is approved.

New goals: Process 1 more traveler.

  • Process your third traveler.

(Intelligence check)

You use the drone's systems to scan a traveler, their CORETECH information is noted and logged though it seems to go directly into the system without any feedback to you, no doubt to maintain privacy. You do, however, note an amber light that you assume indicates the traveler is flagged for a security concern. Through the drone's 'eye' you can see security personnel slowly coalescing onto the traveler. The system seems to work quite quickly indeed!

New goals: Return to Siv for payment.

Next NPC: Siv Havva, Port, YZ Ceti Jump Gate

  • Collect payment from Siv.

Siv is speaking to someone via CORETECHS when you arrive, her eyes are momentarily glazed as she watches something in her field of view. After a moment she finishes and focuses her giant, Harsene eyes on you.

She says: <name>, you have finished. A thorough and efficient job, you have my compliments. Security will question the traveler your scan flagged and take any necessary action. Thank you again for your help. The drone application has auto-deleted and your account has now been credited. The Consortium thanks you for your diligence citizen. Be well.

You have received 70.00 credits.

You have completed the "Random Security Scans" job.
